Explore Birmingham’s incredible culinary scene during Birmingham Restaurant Week! Local restaurants will offer special dishes and deals January 20-29.
It’s not hard to find a good meal in Birmingham. In fact, the Magic City was named America’s No. 1 Next Hot Food City. Birmingham is home to a host of brilliant chefs and excellent restaurants, and Birmingham Restaurant Week is the perfect time to see what our culinary scene has to offer.
From January 20 to 29, over 40 of the city’s favorite restaurants will offer special dishes and drinks, including multi-course options at set price ranges. Diners can enjoy a $10-$15 lunch at the Silvertron Café or John’s City Diner, then a $30 dinner for two at Veccia Pizzaria & Mercato.
The 10-day event began in 2010, organized by REV Birmingham “for the love of local.” Participating restaurants are locally owned and operated, and showcase the wide variety of culinary styles found in Birmingham. You can grab classic Southern cooking at Rusty’s Bar-B-Q, or take in the flavors of South Vietnam at Saigon Noodle House.
In the mood for a fine dining experience? Southside heavyweights like Bottega and Ocean offer $40 dinners including appetizer, entrée, and dessert. James Beard Award-winning chef Chris Hastings’ more casual venture, Ovenbird, features a $30 flame-cooked meal that reflects the chef’s famous ingenuity.
If you’re hungry for a taste of the Southwest, BRW has no shortage of authentic and innovative takes on Mexican and Latin fare like Cantina, Rojo, and Taco Morro Loco. Italian cuisine is well-represented, with Veccia in Hoover, the brand-new Cashio’s in Lakeview, and Bottega in Five Points.
Whatever your appetite may crave, you can find it here in Birmingham. Have a look at the complete list of participating restaurants here.
